Our spectacle recycling initiative was born out of our commitment to creating a sustainable future for our planet, the communities we serve, and supporting our customers in adopting sustainable practices.
Benefits of joining the initiative.
- We provide you with quarterly reports on the volume of spectacles you have recycled and prevented from going to landfill.
- You can incorporate the initiative into your offers to encourage your customers to recycle their old frames.
- We offer reward schemes for our top recycling customers.
Joining and Reporting process
- Contact your dedicated partnership Manager to join the initiative and request a Caledonian recycling box.
- Once your box is full, send back the frames collected to our Head office via your Caledonian DX account.
- You can request a replacement if your box is damaged or worn out.
What happens to your Recycled Spectacles?
- The spectacles are sent to the Lions Club for sorting.
- They are then graded and shipped to many countries around the world where they are needed.
- Spectacles that cannot be reused are recycled for financial support to eye-related projects in the UK and overseas.
About your Caledonian Recycling Box
- The Caledonian Recycling Box is made of white 2-wave E + E corrugated cardboard with a thickness of 2.3 mm, ensuring tremendous strength and durability indoors and 100% recyclable.
- The material is coded PAP21 and can be disposed of in a separate collection of paper or organic waste, as it decomposes in nature within 3 months.
